Rebalance Earth is a UK natural infrastructure investment manager, founded in 2023 by Rob Gardner and Walid Al-Saqqaf to bring institutional capital to landscape restoration in Britain.

Britain's natural infrastructure is under strain.
Flooding, drought and polluted rivers already cost households, businesses and the public purse. Restoring the landscapes that hold and clean water reduces those costs. Yet most restoration still depends on grants and goodwill, which cannot fund it at the scale the problem demands. We set out to turn restoration into an asset institutional investors can own.

We run Rebalance Earth as an investment business, with institutional governance, structuring and reporting. We partner with farmers, landowners and specialist developers who know their catchments, and we commit capital only where an organisation is ready to pay for the result.

Rob Gardner
CEO and Co-Founder
Rob brings 25 years’ experience across pensions, investment and sustainable finance, having built and scaled Redington, mallowstreet and RedSTART and previously served as Director of Investments at St. James’s Place. As CEO and Co-Founder, he leads Rebalance Earth’s mission to establish Nature as an investible infrastructure class.
Walid Al-Saqqaf
CTO and Co-Founder
Walid brings deep experience applying digital technologies to complex business challenges. As CTO and Co-Founder, he ensures the firm’s work is scalable, data-driven and robust, aligning financial capital with the restoration of Nature.
Kirsty Wilman
COO and CFO
Kirsty is a Chartered Accountant with senior operational, governance and real asset experience, previously COO of a real estate division and currently a Non-Executive Director of a FTSE 250 REIT. She brings the operational structure, controls and commercial rigour needed to deliver outcomes for companies, investors and ecosystems.
James Hurrell
Acting CIO
James brings private markets experience from Bridges Fund Management, where he was a Partner focused on impact investing, alongside previous roles at Livingbridge and DC Advisory. He combines investment discipline with a clear understanding of how Nature loss and climate change affect companies, communities and economies.
